Exploration of Repurposing a Stampbook
Part one was to “map” a given object. The object received was a stamp book with one stamp left. From creating maps, the idea of repurposing the object while retaining its purpose was produced. The map was written inside the stamp book, put in a bottle and thrown in to a body of water. All of the mapping, thinking, process was assembled into a booklet replicating the original object.
Part two is a counter proposal towards part one. A postcard book was created showing a series of photos telling the story of what happened in part one—throwing the bottle in the water. With this made, instead of one stamp being sent to one person, there is now an infinite amount of postcards being sent to multiple people.
